Trent Cokley

Trent is a dynamic singer-songwriter whose sound fuses R&B soul, country warmth, and gospel-rooted emotion. A proud Howard University alumnus, he honed his craft with the acclaimed Howard Gospel Choir and the vocal-jazz ensemble Afro Blue, later appearing on NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2011. His debut live project, Heal Our Hearts Live (2019), captured the raw passion of his 2014 EP in a powerful performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. During the turbulence of 2020, Trent released “Reach Out,” a heartfelt call for unity and compassion. His music has continued to resonate widely: “Don’t Stop” was featured in ABC’s The Rookie (Episode 508), and his soulful holiday ballad “With You” appeared in the 2024 BET+ film Too Many Christmases. Blending heartfelt storytelling with genre-bending style, Trent creates music that uplifts, inspires, and connects.
