Jason Kerrison
Jason Kerrison is a multi-platinum, multi-award-winning Singer/Songwriter, Meditator, Surfer and Hemp/Alpaca Farmer from The Far North, New Zealand. He spent many years at the top of the New Zealand Music Scene with his rock band OPSHOP enjoying commercial success with nine times platinum status album sales and critical success, picking up nine New Zealand Music Awards and the prestigious APRA(Australasian Performing Rights Association) Silver Scroll Award for Song of the Year, for โOne Dayโ. Jason also formed Eclectic Hip Hop group The Babysitters Circus. Which was the 1st NZ act to sit within the Top 5 most played songs on Dutch and Italian radio simultaneously with "Everythings Gonna Be Alright', which he produced and released off his own label Control Freak Music. In 2011, JK was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in the Queen's Birthday Honors for Services to Music. In 2012 and 2013 Jason was a Judge in New Zealandโs Got Talent. And in 2016 appeared as a Guest Mentor and performer on NZโs X-Factor. In March 2015 JK released his first solo EP called โ#JKEP1โ. He describes it as eclectic stomp pop with acoustic framing and digital renderings. Produced to tickle the soul, speak to the heart and at times shake the hips. In January 2016 Jason independently released his new self-produced EP, #JKEP2, inspired by the Golden Ratio, or Phi. He introduced the experimental listening project at TEDx in Christchurch late 2015. The aim is to provide a healing modality inherent in the music and the duration times. The EP was recorded at 432Hz instead of standard concert pitch 440Hz. Music based on 432Hz is said to transmit beneficial healing energy, because it is a pure tone of math fundamental to nature.
