Cuban popular music has a special presence in Peru, a country that welcomed a young Cuban drummer known as El Hueso 18 years ago, giving him the opportunity to develop a musical sound that is embodied in his project HeavyTimba. This year, the first promotional single, "Popuritmo," is released and is available on all digital platforms. This totally danceable song was produced by El Hueso & Norberto Valdés and also features the collaboration of Pedrito, a Cuban multi-instrumentalist musician and singer; Adhemir Charun, a Peruvian singer; and Marco Antonio on percussion. It was recorded at El Techo studios by Amadeo Gaviria, who also handled the mixing and mastering. Fused with pop and electronic music, this song contains the playful and flavorful DNA characteristic of Cuban popular music since the days of son montuno, while also contributing a contemporary structure to music-making.
